Lead angels, Jill Jones and Annie Finlayson of Women Angels of Wales had the honour of joining an amazing group from Wales on a visit to MIT for the MIT Industrial Liaison Program, organised by TownSq and Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government. 

Jill and Annie were welcomed at the British Consulate-General Boston where they had the opportunity to learn about the landscape of trade between the UK and the US.

On the first day, Steve Whittaker gave the group an insightful overview of the work at MIT and a tour of the campus before Georgina Campbell Flatter hosted the group for a visit to Greentown Labs – an exceptional and inspirational hub for climate and green-tech startups.

At the 2025 MITR&D conference, Jill and Annie learned about the rise of AI powered Health Tech, the growth of AI driven enterprises, agentic AI governance, and how we’re rapidly moving towards an “internet of agents”. A fascinating view of where technology is heading and how to support ecosystem development in these rapidly changing times.

It was a privilege to be part of such an excellent cohort and great connections have been made both within and beyond the group.
